Urdu Software for Utility Bills
KARACHI, May 25: A Pakistani company, Innovative Computers, has developed Urdu software to help customers pay their utility bills. The 'Fast Cash' transaction processing software runs through ATMs and cash deposit terminals, and can be used by the utility companies for receiving electricity, telephone and gas bills. "We have signed an MoU with the SNGPL, while negotiations with other utilities are in process to introduce this technology in Pakistan," Amir Wain, chief executive, of Innovative Computers told Dawn.
He said his foreign partners Wincor-Nixdorf, a German high-tech company, were willing to provide financing to Pakistani utilities to introduce this technology. "I think this technology can save customers from the hassle they face for depositing their utility bills," Amir said. The company has also launched the complete range of Wincor-Nixdore self-service products in Pakistan. The products include solutions for cash transactions and interactive multimedia terminals for the retail banking industry. (
